Dave Zimmerman graduated from the University of Washington in 1994 with the highest honors and a Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering. His master thesis involved designing an analog circuit using nonlinear analysis that mimickes the function of the retina in your eye. The circuit was designed to be tuned to work either like a carnivore's eye (motion detection) or an herbivore's eye (edge detection). Since then, Dave has successfully been applying nonlinear analysis to award winning eletronics and environmental software design.

With about 1,000 Maven Peal amplifiers in the field and studios, not one has ever experienced a power supply issue or failure. Since 1999, Maven Peal amps continue to prove they offer the most sophisticated, safest, feature packed and profitable guitar amplifier power supply available.

Dave took a break from making amps and recently came out with the new Howler distortion pedal. Offering Maven Peal's patented Sag Circuit, the Sag knob has been renamed to the "Peal" knob to help distinguish Maven Peal's technology. The Howler's break-through technology give all amplifiers, tube and transistor, the abillity to "Peal" like never before.

Now more and more guitarists are seeking amps and pedals sporting "Wattage" and "Sag" knobs (or something claiming to be similar). Only Maven Peal gives you patented, field-tested control over Wattage and Sag control.

"Now, obviously you're going to get some distortion when generating sustain, but the minimum distortion level created by the Howler is nothing short of amazing. When plugged in front of my 1964 fender vibroverb... the notes sing and sustain for days. Add the sag control, and you have complete control of attack, sustain, gain, and volume. The same holds true for my more modern amps as well. The bottom line is, you have created a pedal that is going to be the gold standard as soon as the
rest of the world catches on."

"Now I can get the sound of a Deluxe crunching at 10, yet have the volume at 3 [with the Howler]."

"I don't know if God plays guitar, but if he does, this [the Ganesha] would be the amp."

""For those of us who have sought controllable power tube distortion at volume levels that will not lead to divorce or police action, this [the Zeeta] is the holy grail.."

"However, its [the Ganesha] clean sounds are better than any Marshall. Very warm fat tones. By setting the sag control all the way to zero, (which makes it cleaner than a normal Marshall), you can get the funkiest clean rhythm tones... When you turn the sag control up, it makes the tone softer, creamier, and the notes melt in your hand, like they do when you crank a Marshall."
